President's Message - June 2022

President's Messages
Hello PMINEO!!

Summer is here!!  With the ending of the school year, PMINEO usually takes much of the summer off.  Not so much... it is time to kick the Chapter back into high gear!

We just held our Spring Professional Development Day on May 19 - hosted by our partner Baldwin Wallace University.  Nearly 60 people participated in the afternoon/evening event, learning from awesome speakers that addressed all three sides of the talent triangle (4.5 PDUs).  It was so nice to see people in 3D again!  Special thanks to the PDD Team, who planned and executed a superior event, and to our event sponsor, Rock Solid Solutions!

Our annual award winners were also announced at the PDD.  Congratulations to Jessica Quartermaine, our Young Project Professional award winner, and to Jai Jacob, our Project Management Excellence award winner!!  Both happen to also be strong volunteers for the Chapter, leading the PDD team and our Student Leadership team, respectively.
Did you know the PMI Talent Triangle is changing?  Check out this video for more info.

Be on the lookout for Governance Board Election information.  The Nomination window will open shortly; elections will happen later in the summer.

Please check the website for all of our upcoming events.  And review our partner offerings where you can take certification prep classes and earn PDUs learning from video-based content or self-paced classes.
As a reminder, we expect to deliver programs in a ‘hybrid’ model – with both in-person and virtual options - starting this Fall.  There are technical challenges to overcome for this, and we are learning from peer Chapters as well as local companies.  If you, or your company/academic institution, has experience with this – and possibly a technology-enabled room, please let us know.  (You can email me directly)  It is difficult to find a cost-effective model that can be executed by part-time volunteers.  Please help us out!

Be sure to follow us on LinkedIn and other social media channels! LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube

See you in-person soon!
