You can register for all presentations or just the evening keynote. We are also offering a virtual social hour for some professional networking. (You’ll have to provide your own drinks and snacks.)

KEYNOTE: Breakthrough Communication Skills – 2.0 Strategic PDUs
Using a unique combination of personal anecdotes and interactive activities, Bob Graham of Breakthrough Solutions will offer a unique look at communications. Using humor and heart-breaking moments, he will guide participants to discover how a cancer diagnosis and the resulting recovery can inform us on strategies for more effective communications. Learn how his proprietary Breakthrough Communication Skills (Attunement, Experience Management and Storytelling) can determine how and why communication works or doesn’t work. Using these three skills, uncover a new method for becoming more effective in all communications, from meetings and progress reports to the dreaded missed-deadline meeting and other difficult discussions.
Going from Manager to Leader – 1.5 Leadership PDUs
Managing -- delegating tasks; coercing, cajoling and check-marking completion of those tasks, and celebrating the few times team members actually achieve what is expected on time – remains woefully ineffective and detrimental to team development. Managers take on the role of adversary. In contrast, leaders guide their teams toward shared goals. Leaders help their teams see the bigger picture, how each member’s work fits into the whole, and empower team members to “own” their work and seek support and assistance from others on the team. In this interactive workshop, Bob Graham of Breakthrough Solutions will lead participants to the differences between managers and leaders. In online breakout sessions, participants can develop strategies for leading and creating their leader’s mindset. Participants will leave with strategies they need as leaders to steer their teams forward in more efficient, powerful ways.
Risk Management – A Case Study – 1.5 Technical PDUs
Risk Management holds an unusual position in Project Management – we all talk about it but it only rarely gets actually done. This presentation will allow the attendees to experience something unique – an actual case study where all of the steps of risk management are done and the benefits are clearly visible.
Although the focus of the case study will be IT, the Risk Management processes that will be seen are universal and can be applied to any project. We will start in the beginning, where the team is formally introduced to Risk Management and left in no doubt about how it will be used, by the creation of a risk strategy. Risks (negative and positive) will be identified and fully analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively, and each risk will be assigned an owner from the team. The analysis results will drive actual changes to the schedule and the budget. Risk management will continue throughout the project, both to identify new risks and to continue to monitor existing ones.
It has been said that properly done risk management could almost be used to run a project by itself. At the end of this presentation you will know why!
