Presentation: When Jeff was 10 years old and expecting a lecture about a school assignment, his dad—a man of few words but full of wisdom—shared a poem with him instead. That poem is the catalyst behind Jeff’s books and keynotes of the same name, AND his inspiration to help drive businesses forward by fostering the innovation and creativity already present in their employees. He shares the poem with audiences worldwide in hopes that they too will strive for greatness by coloring outside the lines.

2nd Afternoon Session: Ace GayhartAce Gayhart

Find Your Voice: A Techies Guide to Public Speaking

Presentation: A 2017 survey of American Fears by Chapman University cites that 20% of Americans are Afraid/Very Afraid of Public Speaking. However, to be a leader and advance your career, one needs to become a competent communicator. As a software developer, Ace preferred spending most of his time working with computers than with people. To move out of his dimly lit office and onto the stage, Ace had to get over his fears of public speaking. In this session, Ace will share his story about how he found his voice through Toastmasters. This session gives the audience a chance to practice speaking and provides an introduction to Toastmasters: a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.

Bio:  Ace Gayhart is the Director of Application Development Services at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) and has over 25 years’ experience writing software professionally. In his current role, he leads the application development team in software development and application maintenance. Ace also uses his passion for technology and education to teach Tri-C students about software development.

Outside of Tri-C, Ace is an active Toastmaster. He achieved the Dynamic Leadership Level 2, Advanced Communicator Gold, and Advanced Leader Silver educational awards. He served as the District 10 Finance Manager for Toastmasters International, and Club President, Vice President of Education, and Secretary for the Lorain County Toastmasters.  Ace holds a Master of Science in Information Systems & Technology Management from Capella University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Kaplan University.
