PMINEO is seeking nominations for the 2013 Kerzner Award for Project Management Excellence and the 2013 Project of the Year. The awards will be presented at our Kerzner dinner meeting in January.
The Kerzner Award for Project Management Excellence recognizes and honors an individual who has demonstrated significant contributions and continual commitment to the project management profession; enhancing project management concepts, practices and techniques.
The Project of the Year Award recognizes and honors the premier project in the Northeast Ohio area for the year, taking into account the use of project management principles, particularly the PMBOK in the planning, design, construction and implementation of the project.
All nominators must have personal knowledge of why the individual or project is being nominated.
All nominations MUST be received by Wednesday November 27, 2013. The nomination committee will review all nominations and notify nominators of their decision by mid December.
You can find the nomination form for the Kerzner Award and template for the Project of the Year Award on the PMINEO website at www.pmineo.org by selecting the "Community Services" tab and then "Published Articles". Or, find the Kerzner Award Nomination Form here, and the Project of the Year Award Template here.
The Kerzner Award for Project Management Excellence - Any individual who has significant project/program/portfolio management responsibility within their company and who has shown leadership in advancing the project management profession is eligible for this ward. Note this is not a one project or one year award. It is awarded for continuously exemplifying the characteristics of a strong, effective project manager throughout their career. This person would have shown an ongoing commitment to the standards, goals and practices of project management.
The nominee does not need to be a member of PMI. However, the project management work leading to their nomination must be done by, or for, a Northeastern Ohio company or organization. This may be a for-profit or non-profit organization. The link to the Kerzner Award Nomination Form is here.
The 2013 Project of the Year Award - Any project completed in Northeast Ohio during the 2013 calendar year. Where as the Kerzner Award is based on the individual’s contribution to project management, the Project of the Year Award is based on the Northeast Ohio project of most significance and may be presented to one individual or a group of individuals.
The project does not need to be affiliated to anyone who is a PMI member, nor managed by a PMP. If the winning project is deemed to be qualified for the PMI project of the year and competitive at that level, it may be submitted to the PMI nomination process by the chapter. The individual(s) receiving the Project of the Year award will be asked to present their project at a subsequent spring chapter meeting.
