Northeast Ohio Chapter of PMI

President's Messages

Happy New Year, PMINEO... Welcome to 2022!!

Black--Gold-Festive-Happy-New-Year-Instagram-PostI hope that you had an enjoyable and restful holiday - filled with family & friends or whatever you needed to energize for the new year!

At PMINEO, we are energized for the new year as well - with three great events planned in January:
Thu, 1/13 - Women in PM Book & Video Club (all are welcome)
Thu, 1/20 - PMI Certification Offerings & Certification Framework (guest speaker from PMI)
Thu, 1/27 - Tech Talk: PM-BoK 7th Edition (Noon start time)

In February, we will host our annual Chapter mtg, where our Program Managers will review 2021 and I will discuss the health of the chapter as we look to grow through 2022.

Check out our Event Calendar for more information and registration.

And equally exciting... This is finally the year that we should be able to transition back to some in-person programming events - most likely over the summer and into the fall. For each event, we will be taking a purposeful approach to how we deliver it (virtual, in-person, or hybrid) - based on which delivery method aligns best to the format of the meeting. Look for more info as we announce our return to in-person events mid-year.

We are always looking for suggestions to make the Chapter and our programming offerings most meaningful & beneficial for you. PLEASE do not hesitate to reach out to me or any of our volunteers with feedback.

And remember to follow us on LinkedIn!

Cheers to a prosperous 2022!

Hey PMINEO -
I love the holidays... from Thanksgiving all the way through to New Years!
And I love our Chapter!  I am so grateful for our loyal members, and our dedicated volunteers, who make our Chapter excellent!
As I look back on 2021, who would have thought we would still be struggling with Covid and not able to hold in-person meetings!  (Spoiler alert: we are starting to plan for them in 2022)  No worries however, as our Programming & Membership teams continue to bring high-quality events and sessions in virtual style!  Did you know that we already hosted 30 events through the end of September?  And that does not even include our Oct & Nov events: Book Club, monthly sessions, and our signature IPM Day seminar!
I hope you have also noticed our increased presence on LinkedIn - follow us at PMI Northeast Ohio Chapter: Overview | LinkedIn
As we conclude 2021... I wish you, along with your family & friends, a happy, safe, and healthy holiday!!
If there is anything we can do to make our Chapter even better, please reach out.  We would love to hear from you!
See you in 2022 -

Hard to believe we have reached the unofficial end to summer!

We did hold our first in-person event since the beginning of COVID - at an Akron Rubber Ducks minor league baseball game! All those who made it had a great time, despite the final score.

As usual, we did slow things down a little over the summer months. But keep reading... we are kicking back into gear in September for the Fall!
9/16 - Topic: Standing-up COVID Vaccination Clinic
9/24 - Virtual Job Fair

Save the Date for our (virtual) Annual Planning meeting on Sat, October 16 (9a to Noon-ish). Strongly recommended for volunteers; all are welcome!

Check out our website event page for current information and registration.

Be on the lookout for the Governance Board ballot - voting will occur in Sept!

If there is anything we can do to make our Chapter even better, please reach out. We would love to hear from you!

Welcome to a beautiful late Spring!! So glad to be outside again and starting to get back to 'normal' - whatever that means!

We will continue virtual programming through the summer - so you can enjoy from the comfort of your deck/patio with a cold beverage nearby! View our event list to register.

With the Governor's lifting of pandemic restrictions, Chapter leadership is evaluating options for a return to in-person events. We are starting with a social event at an Akron Rubber Ducks game on August 18th. Get more info and register here.

Something NEW!! We are planning for hybrid programming (in-person & virtual) in the second half of the year! If you have a passion for video recording and would like to be part of our hybrid technology team, please This email address is being protected from spambots. It is hard to believe that we are in September and Labor Day is upon us. I am trying to fight that it represents the unofficial end to summer!

First, THANKS for your generosity. Together we donated 557 pounds of food to the Cleveland Food Bank on behalf of the Chapter. Combined with other chapters from Region 4, we supplied nearly 5 tons of food to food banks in major cities in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey. Well done!

You are invited to our Annual Planning meeting for 2021. It will take place virtually on Saturday, September 26, from 9:15a-11:30a. Our focus will be on post-COVID: how do we want to emerge as a Chapter and what should we be doing now to prepare for it? Please visit www.pmineo.org for more details and to register. All Chapter leaders and volunteers are strongly urged to attend; all are welcome to join!

Be on the lookout for your ballot for PMINEO Governance Board elections. There are two officer positions up for election this year. Information should be distributed in the next week with a link. Be sure to read the candidate bios and cast your vote.

We have exciting virtual events throughout the Fall - from more Thursday Tech Talk webinars, monthly chapter meetings, women in PM book clubs meetings, and our combined International Project Management Day / Professional Development Day event on Thursday, November 5. We also have links to some virtual events by our regional chapters that you can attend.

As school starts (in whatever form) and some of us are returning to work at an office, I am anxiously awaiting in-person chapter events (as soon as it is advisable). Until then...

Stay safe & healthy!
