PMINEO
PMINEO, one of more than 300 PMI chapters worldwide, is the premier association for project management professionals in Northeast Ohio, serving more than 1,300 members.
Chartered January 1990, the local chapter represents a diverse membership from the greater Cleveland area spanning east to Pennsylvania, west to Sandusky and south through Akron, Canton, Youngstown and surrounding suburbs.
Membership includes experience levels from students and recent graduates to retired professionals — as well as affiliated agency attendees interested in networking.
The top five industries represented are IT, manufacturing, health care, financial services and consulting. Most common titles are Program Manager (15%), Project Manager III (14%), Director of Project Management/Director of PMO (10%) and Functional Manager (7%).
A 2023 survey indicates networking is a significant part of PMINEO’s growth strategy, with about half of respondents saying they heard about the chapter from word of mouth. Membership is relatively long term. Most respondents say they have been a member three-to-five years and are age 46 or older. Almost 10 percent are 25- to 35-years-old.
Professional and recreational meetings vary in location, days of the week and time of day to accommodate a diverse membership. In addition, virtual options are available. Leadership, Strategy, Agile, Change Management, PMO and general professional development are preferred meeting topics. Other popular subjects have examined the management of local sports teams, the Cleveland Air Show and a brewery.
