The PMINEO 2016 Kerzner Award Dinner has been scheduled for January 18, 2017. Named in honor of project management pioneer, Dr. Harold Kerzner, the Kerzner Awards are the most prestigious honors bestowed by the Northeast Ohio Chapter of Project Management Institute.
PDU's Awarded: 1 for attendance
Dr. Harold Kerzner will be the featured speaker. His topic will be: PM 2.0 and PM 3.0: The Next Generation of Project Managers
Abstract: PM 2.0 and PM 3.0: The Next Generation of Project Managers
Several years ago, with the introduction of Web 2.0 technology, PM 2.0 evolved into a strategic competency and the life’s blood of their organization. But now, on the horizon is also PM 3.0 which is being recognized as a significant competitive advantage for those companies that see their entire company’s operations as “managing our business by projects.” PM 3.0 is a window into the next generation of project management for those companies that want to be recognized as leaders in the project management community rather than followers. These companies believe that the time to prepare the next generation of project managers, using PM 3.0 concepts, is now rather than later.
- Some of the changes seen with PM 3.0 include:
- Replacing traditional methodologies with flexible frameworks that include the measurement of business value
- Creation of value-reflective metrics rather than using just time, cost and scope
- Use of metric owners to control “metric mania” and information overload
- Use of project management related Certification Boards
- Development of recovery project management skills for failing projects
- Establishing future project management knowledge areas for global project managers
