MS Teams Audio Calls Implementation at BakerHostetler
Baker Law successfully implemented Microsoft Teams Audio Calls. They've recently won our chapter's Project of the Year Award. Please join us to learn about the project and the lessons learned.
To appropriately meet their project deadline, BakerHostetler took a SWAT approach and divided their program team into two project teams that worked independently, but also together on specific components within the project scope. Weekly program management meetings helped keep the teams aligned and leaders from both teams participated on sponsor calls.
Their transition to Teams Audio Calls encompassed 11 distinct scope components which were split amongst the two project teams. They:
- Leveraged a dedicated Microsoft Teams channel for program and project personnel to share documentation and collaborate effectively;
- Standardized a decision deck to accurately track all project-related decisions;
- Utilized Teams Group chats during cutover weekends to keep all communications flowing to the appropriate personnel and questions answered in an efficient manner;
- Created a small sub-team to work specifically with the attorneys that support our largest client;
- Additionally, BakerHostetler fully embraced Change Management throughout this initiative and developed a formal Change Management Plan that included a 60-page communication plan (maintained by one of their PMs) and several Change Management resources for their end users;
- In conjunction with their Director of Administration, they worked with over 17 change champions that contributed to the project success.
