This session provides a summary of the changes to the PMBOK from the Seventh Edition to the new Eighth Edition. Blended approach of mindset, technical ways of working, with practical examples of application-oriented focus, data-driven content design. The new PMBOK continues to support any project approach: predictive, adaptive and hybrid.

This session provides an overview of the latest updates to the 2026 Project Management Professional (PMP) certification exam and how it continues to evolve to meet the needs of today’s project professionals.

Product Portfolio Specialist
Tina Pierson, CAPM, is a Product Portfolio Specialist who is responsible for delivering the business requirements that inform the development of PMI’s CAPM®, PMP® and PgMP® Professional Certification Products. Through collaboration with the PMI Learning, Publications, and Certification teams, she leverages insights, supplemented by research, and data analysis, to understand the business requirements essential for product strategy and development. This approach ensures that PMI's offerings are closely aligned with market needs. Tina is a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® certification holder and has worked at PMI for over 14 years.

Josh Parrott

Product Manager, Project Management Institute®
Prior to joining PMI in August of 2021, Josh Parrott spent 15 years in Higher Ed working in the academic publishing sector across numerous roles. Including sales, sales management, marketing and product management. As a Product Manager, he has lead project teams consisting of subject matter experts, content managers, marketing partners and DevOps in revisions of core textbooks, practice guides, ANSI standards, online courseware and standardized assessments. With a focus on maintaining a deep understanding of the market, customer experience and developing solutions that are focused on solving problems to delight end users. Josh is PMI Certified Professional in Managing AI (PMI-CPMAI)™, and has a Master of Science in Business Informatics from Northern Kentucky University.
